A New York City busking sensation will emerge above ground to perform at Lincoln Center on Wednesday. The famed living statue the Ballerina Mime will perform alongside original chamber music from cellist Titilayo Ayangade and violist Edwin Kaplan, playing together as duo kayo. The event, called Living Statues, Living Music, will take place at the David Geffen Hall’s Kenneth C. Griffin Sidewalk Studio on March 8 at 8 p.m.

Known for her striking costume and captivating dancing, the living statue-artist Ballerina Mime has been performing for New Yorkers on the subway and in Central Park for roughly 20 years. After years of dancing within the confines of the transit system, she will finally make her debut at one of the world’s leading musical institutions.

Known for their unique approach to classical music and their ideas that challenge the traditional norms of the genre, duo kayo has nearly 15 years of professional experience under their belts.
In addition to their highly-anticipated performance alongside the Ballerina Mime, duo kayo can be found spreading joy through music at shows in the American Northeast.
Tickets are being sold on a choose-what-you-pay basis, with a recommended ticket price of $15.
